The Italian Shop in the Italian Restaurant

Talk about hidden places! If nobody ever told me about this shop, I would have probably never discovered those kilo’s penne and tagliatelle.

For the sake of pasta

Although I’ve never watched the Soprano’s (apparantly one of the best series ever) I can just picture this rather dark and obscure shop which is hidden in the back of the adjacent Italian restaurant as an ideal place for a secret nocturnal rendez-vous. So a friendly ambiance? Nope. But for the sake of pasta, check it out. Fusili, tagliatelle, penne rigate, spaghetti, all those delicious carbs come in different shapes and sizes. I’ve only bought pasta so far but also noteworthy are the maizena, polenta, canned or sundried tomatoes, pesto, olives, wine (lot’s of them) and a fairly big selection of Italian meat like salame napoli and prosciutto crudo. I don’t mind buying packaged pasta, but for the charcuterie I would definitely head over to DiVino on Mabua Road though.

The restaurant is being renovated at the moment and is expected to reopen in April. The shop is open.
