The Farmers Market

For a lot of Kampalalans out there, trodding The Farmers Market at Prunes on a Saturday morning has become a welcome or simply a necessary ritual.

Favourite market merchandise is Muwonge’s Organic Farm which sells the best chicken and eggs in town (the yolk actually is almost orange!), Bugolobi Bagels (plain, garlic, cinnamon, raison or sesame), Edna’s... and the fruits and vegetables which somehow seem to look and taste better than those of the mainstream markets like Nakasero or Bugolobi.

Most of the vendors start packing their things around 2 pm. I would advise coming a bit early though to make sure you’ll find everything you need. Obviously, after all that shopping, some downtime is required in Prunes’ garden or terrace.
