A while back, my sister was looking for some nice t-shirts to take home for her boyfriend. Not those touristy bad quality ones, but decent items which are unmistakably African. Definition Africa has the goods.
'Pay me, don't play me'
The shop is located on the first floor of The Acacia Mall in Kololo. Maybe you could best describe the place as a happy cocktail of colours and punchy oneliners. Cushions, notebooks, hats, stickers, tops, t-shirts and bags are bound to attract your attention with their typical contemporary African patterns and designs like Acacia trees, rolex factories, matatu’s and matooke. Funny slogans like 'Pay me, don’t play me' tend to linger around days after you set foot in the place.The Definition team strives to sell products that are 100 % African made.
I especially love the kitenge umbrella's (270K), the modern wooden lamps with kitenge shades (small 360K/ big 650K) and the colorful big shoppers (between 145K and 200K). Make sure you bring enough money, because things are rather pricy.
