Kijani

With swimming being such a fundamental part of our Ugandan life, Kijani's swimming diapers are a very welcome item in the baby department.

Go Kijani Green

When I started reading about the brand Kijani on their website, which means 'green' in swahili, I discovered more reasons why washable cloth nappies are a very good idea.

Obviously, it's better for your wallet. The diapers are adjustable so the same set of diapers can be used until your baby is potty trained. A baby can use about 15-20 cloth diapers in total. Even future brothers or sisters could wear them. But more importantly, cloth diapers are better for your baby since soft fabrics without dangerous chemicals are used, as opposed to disposable ones. Needless to say that cloth nappies are better for the environment. When you take into account that an average child will wear between 4000 and 8000 nappies by the time they are potty trained, you can imagine what the environmental impact must be. So far the green message.

Apart from swim diapers (20K), cloth diapers (between 20K and 35K), training diapers (between 25K and 45K) in different colours and patterns, Kijani aslo offers children's clothing made from kitenge and kikoy fabrics and diaper accessories.
